Redmi Note 14 Series To Launch In Malaysia
On 10 January
Xiaomi has officially announced the local
launch of the Redmi Note 14 series. The lineup will be arriving in Malaysia on
10 January 2025, just a day after its sub-brand, POCO, is set to release
the X7 Pro.
According to the brand’s Shopee store, there will be three models from the lineup
that will make it to the Malaysian market, namely the Note 14 5G,
the Note
14 Pro 5G, and a new 4G version of the vanilla model. While we do not know
anything yet about the upcoming 4G variant, we know what to expect from the
other two Redmi smartphones.
The Pro sports a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED display
with a 120Hz refresh rate and an HDR peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Under the
hood, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra powered by a 5,500mAh battery
that supports 45W charging. For protection, it comes with an IP68 rating as
well as Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
As for the vanilla 5G model, it also comes with
a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, but with a lower 1080p resolution and an HDR
peak brightness of 2,100 nits. It is backed by a Dimensity 7025 Ultra alongside
a 5,110mAh battery with 45W charging. Durability-wise, it gets an IP64 rating
and Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Interestingly, we might see a new camera setup on the global variants rather than the 50MP sensors revealed in the original models from China. On its teaser site for the upcoming launch, it advertises a 200MP camera — rumoured to be using Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3 sensor — but it is unclear if this change will be exclusive to the Pro or if it will be standard across the entire lineup.
